Welcome to The Forge, the home of Midwesthell’s underground rock and metal scene!

The Forge is an internet radio show that airs Thursday from 3-7pm Eastern Standard Time on Centerstage Radio’s K Metal Rock. The Forge is hosted live by Rob Salem.

The Forge features the best underground (unsigned/independent–small label/DIY) rock and metal from all over the country, with a special focus on the Midwest; our interest is in the local and regional metal bands that haven’t hit the ‘big time’ yet, and our goal is get them exposure to new fans all over the world by giving them air play that they won’t likely find on mainstream/commercial radio.

The Forge is partnered with several other entities in the Indiana and Midwest scenes and we all work together to spread the idea of Midwesthell and to build, support, and maintain a thriving, healthy, happenin’ underground rock and metal scene. Venues, promoters, booking agents, labels, bands, and fans have all come together to make this thing happen, and The Forge is just one piece of the network.

The Forge is ALWAYS open to submissions! All we require is an mp3 or two emailed to theforgeradio (AT) gmail (DOT) com, along with your band name, hometown, and social media links. We also do album reviews, so if you want to send your full album, we’ll add it to our list. The only requirements we have for airplay during the afternoon show are:

1) Return promotion–we believe in the DIY ethic, and to that end we rely on go-getters willing to not only promote themselves, but also the people supporting and promoting them. What this means is that we ask you to do a little promotion for The Forge by putting the relevant links up on your band’s media and websites. The more people that know about the show, the more people will listen, and that’s good for EVERYONE! (Just a hint about how this works–the bands that do the most to support The Forge tend to get more airplay than others… 😉 )

The Forge is open to do in-studio interviews with the bands we play and support, and we are also interested station IDs from those bands.
